An issue Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

An issue - Assignment Example Yet, then again, expert decision activists contend this is basically a distraction, as it accept that life is consequently acceptable, and that if the child is brought to term everyone will be cheerful. At last, in spite of the fact that it is a clingy issue ethically, permitting singular ladies the option to rehearse premature birth legitimately appears to be more good than giving a sweeping refusal of fetus removal for any ladies whatsoever. The choice to make fetus removal lawful in the mid 1960s is one that was, and that keeps on being, extremely dubious. Be that as it may, â€Å"legal fetus removal has verifiably profited ladies and their families† (Joffe, 54), in the fundamental in light of the fact that these ladies no longer need to search out hazardously unsanitary, underground market choices in the event that they don't wish to carry a kid to term. From this perspective, obviously probably the most grounded contention for legitimizing premature birth doesn't really e xpect whether fetus removal itself is good. It essentially expresses that since ladies will get premature births in any case, it is increasingly good to guarantee that they can get premature births lawfully, as these premature births are more secure. Joffe additionally takes note of this is one of the greatest good issues with hostile to premature birth developments, as they make for a circumstance where â€Å"the United States may well come back to the circumstance of the pre-Roe time, when ladies of means figured out how to get protected fetus removal care and helpless ladies regularly did not† (59) because of absence of simple access to fetus removal centers. In any case, numerous individuals contend that the lady isn't the individual who has the most grounded moral right in instances of premature birth. Rather, they state, it is the unborn kid or embryo who has the right to be secured the most. This is on the grounds that they contend from a generally Christian or if noth ing else strict viewpoint, which holds that â€Å"life [is] a valuable blessing from God and that man [does] not reserve the privilege to murder the blameless kid in the womb† (Karrer 528). From this point of view, permitting premature birth to be legitimate is basically equivalent to authorizing murder, as it executes a potential kid who may somehow or another have lived. This reality is fundamental to understanding the expert life perspective on fetus removal as an unethical malice, and clarifies why, regardless of the Roe V Wade case which sanctioned the training across the country, there keep on being various gatherings who portray themselves as trying â€Å"to advance regard for the value and nobility of all human life, including the life of the unborn youngster from the snapshot of conception† (Karrer 554). In any case, this contention is somewhat of a distraction. In the event that all human life merits maintaining similarly, at that point the woman’s lif e should likewise be maintained with pride and worth. This is at the core of why fetus removal is such a clingy issue, as the genius life contentions must necessarilyâ€or in any event shouldâ€also center around how to safeguard and treat the life of the lady who needs the premature birth. Aside from women’s wellbeing, keeping premature birth lawful can likewise bigly affect women’s social freedom. M. Palace takes note of that such strict contentions about premature birth can now and then abandon way of talking to reality by making legislative issues â€Å"profoundly against female and supporting sexual orientation inequality† (1). In this contention, the profound quality of keeping premature birth lawful moves from a basic matter of wellbeing and to one of human rights. It isn't only that legitimate premature birth implies

Conceptual Theoretical and Empirical Insights

Question: Talk about the Conceptual Theoretical and Empirical Insights. Answer: Presentation: Techniques are not the same as targets, objectives and strategies. Technique has become a popular expression today and individuals use it oftentimes in their business preservations to show their business discernment without really recognizing what system is. Procedure terms has its starting point from the war anyway as organizations are additionally no not as much as war in todays universe of expanding globalization and rivalry where client has gotten requesting and has high haggling control over the associations (Madsen, Walker, 2015) system term has gotten regular in business preservations. A decent methodology ought to be characterized in remembering the accompanying 4 inquiries: Where do we contend, what are our objective markets? What is our one of a kind offer or why client should purchase from us and not from our rivals? What our qualities and abilities are? Is it proficient flexibly chain, notoriety, provider organize, seller arrange, innovation? How we will support the extraordinary worth going ahead? IKEAs system is clear; they contend in a low end furniture market and utilize large scale manufacturing to keep the cost low. Their wide system and selection of business sectors is one of a kind. This, they don't make however plan the furnishings. They additionally utilize level boxes and do the last gathering at the client space and this encourages them to save money on transportation cost. This is the way the great procedure is characterized. Association that could be profited by the application LOreal is French restorative organization and pioneer in excellence items, corrective items. LOreals key qualities are its development and assortment in items, showcasing abilities. Their one of a kind incentive is their items (Kumar, Bennett, 2003),. Notwithstanding, they moderately have extremely high inventories of their items and unfit to coordinate interest and gracefully across different pieces of the world which bring about loss of deals and once in a while outdated stock in the event that they make ahead of time. They have to characterize clear methodology that should assist them with dealing with their current issues. Deferred separation is one such thing which can be utilized by the association to dispose of the over the top stock issue. For example, they can utilize marking delay procedure which implies that they should keep their items prepared however don't name the items in a specific language. They should sit tight for a last request and afterward can print names in wh atever language they need and in this way can flexibly to any nation. This system will separates them from their rivals and will be their one of a kind worth relational word. This delay system will make them gracefully chain powerful by diminishing the measure of stock. This methodology encourages them to satisfies the interest from various markets worldwide and furthermore very maintainable. They can carry same system to their other product offerings and to various assembling plants to keep it maintainable. Plan of action Innovation Advancement is something that keeps the business running. It either enhances the item or cuts down the expense and in this manner gives the upper hand. There are huge associations like Xerox, Kodak, Yahoo and a lot more who were once pioneers in the business sectors yet as they neglected to develop themselves and overhaul their procedures in regard to showcase requests, they fizzled. Kodak missed the transport for computerized camera unrest where as Canon, Kodak, Sony advance themselves and become showcase pioneers in selling the computerized camera (Morris, Schindehutte, Richardson, Allen, 2015). Development need not really be creating something. For example, Amazon doesn't develop the book shops yet they create the plan of action. Uber has one of the most inventive plans of action where they do claim a solitary taxi themselves, they are simply taxi aggregators and offers support through their portable application. Alibaba doesn't possess any stock in spite of being a most impressive retailer (Nambisan, Lyytinen, Majchrzak, Song, 2017). Great plan of action gives answers to following inquiries: Who is your objective client What are your contribution How would you make esteem How would you produce income Associations could follow 4 stage forms for reevaluating their plan of action which are as per the following: Inception characterizes current method of things and investigating it Ideation characterizes better approach for getting things done by testing your current state Incorporation helps in investigating the consistency and feasibility of the plan of action Execution alludes to begin utilizing new model Association that could be profited by the application Dell is the pioneer is selling PCs online which are arranging to arrange. It causes its clients to alter their PC by choosing different designs. In this manner, Dells PC s can have hard circle from numerous merchants relying on the decision of the buyers as Dell itself is only a constructing agent. They can give mass modified items by delay system. They gather the basic segments that are utilized across a large portion of the items and afterward hang tight for the last get together till the client orders is gotten with careful details. There are numerous different merchants like HP, IBM that don't give tweaked items because of their current plans of action to customers and subsequently missing on a major objective market for geeks who like to have their own particulars because of their necessities. In this way, HP doesn't deliver a few mixes of Processors, hard plate size, slam size. They have standard PCs with a fixed design. There are individuals in the market who need modified items because of their exceptional prerequisites and are eager to pay extra for this. Along these lines, HP ought to consider reevaluating its plan of action to catch more market (Blossfeld, Hofacker, 2014). Simultaneously, Dell additionally has the chance to redesign its plan of action by making PCs in standard arrangements. It is on the grounds that numerous individuals are not certain of picking a setup themselves and consequently incline toward standard designs. References Blossfeld, H. P., Hofcker, D. (2014). For sure, the Alabama Klansmen set the transport ablaze and obstructed the ways out to trap the Freedom Riders inside. It wasn’t until the bus’ fuel tank detonated that the crowd scattered and the Freedom Riders had the option to get away. After a comparative horde assaulted the Freedom Riders in Birmingham, the U.S. Equity Department stepped in and cleared the activists to New Orleans. The government didn't need more damage to go to the riders. The Second Wave Because of the measure of viciousness caused on Freedom Riders, the pioneers of CORE needed to desert the Freedom Rides or keep sending activists into harm’s way. At last, CORE authorities chose to send more volunteers on the rides. Diane Nash, a lobbyist who assisted with arranging Freedom Rides, explainedâ to Oprah Winfrey: â€Å"It was obvious to me that on the off chance that we permitted the Freedom Ride to stop by then, soon after so much savagery had been exacted, the message would have been sent that all you need to do to stop a peaceful crusade is cause gigantic violence.† On the second rush of rides, activists ventured from Birmingham to Montgomery, Alabama in relative harmony. Afterward, in Mississippi, Freedom Riders were captured for entering a whites-just lounge area in a Jackson transport terminal. For this demonstration of rebellion, specialists captured the Freedom Riders, lodging them in one of Mississippi’s most infamous restorative offices Parchman State Prison Farm. â€Å"The notoriety of Parchman is that it’s a spot that many individuals get sent . . . what's more, don’t come back,† previous Freedom Rider Carol Ruth told Winfrey. Throughout the late spring of 1961, 300 Freedom Riders were detained there. An Inspiration Then and Now The battles of the Freedom Riders earned across the nation exposure. Instead of threaten different activists, be that as it may, the ruthlessness the riders experienced roused others to take up the reason. In a little while, many Americans were electing to go on Freedom Rides. At long last, an expected 436 individuals took such rides. The endeavors of the Freedom Riders were at long last compensated when the Interstate Commerce Commission settled on Sept. 22, 1961, to boycott isolation in interstate travel. The Master’s New Signaling Power

Starting in 11th grade, American high school students are already taking the SATs and deciding what colleges they want to attend. The nail-biting and sleepless nights begin early on: Are my scores good enough? Will I get accepted? Whats the right program? But these high school students do not yet realize that for many of them this wont be their last degree if they want to succeed in their careers. They will have to go through this whole process AGAIN when they apply to masters programs. An article in The New York Times (The Masters as the New Bachelors) discusses the fact that an undergraduate degree is no longer enough to make it in the working world. When flipping through professional job listings they mostly state: bachelors required, masters preferred. So why is a bachelors no longer enough? One possibility is that having a masters degree serves as job market signaling, a term coined by A. Michael Spence. A masters degree signals your go-get-em qualities to future employers. Its not about the quality of your education; its how much effort youve expended to get there. Similarly, Eric A. Hanushek, an education economist at the Hoover Institution, suggests that the devaluing of the college degree provides a masters degree with more signaling power. Another reason masters degrees are becoming more popular is that they are also becoming more practical and specialized. There are now degrees being offered, like an M.S. in skeletal and dental bioarchaeology, or a professional science masters (PSM) that combines training for specific jobs with key business skills. Even the MBA has been broken down into specializations, such as supply chain management or managing mission-driven organizations. Possibly the most upsetting part about this new trend is that students must pay for their education while universities and businesses benefit. Employers no longer have to help train their employees, and universities can charge even more per year for a masters degree than a bachelors. But job seekers really have no choice. Richard K. Vedder, professor of economics at Ohio University and director of the Center for College Affordability and Productivity, explains that colleges are educating more students than the market has space for, and a masters might be the only way for someone looking for work to stand out (that, or a diploma from an elite undergraduate college, says Vedder). So those looking to jump-start their careers will have to swallow the costs and start looking at which masters degree program is right for them. And do it fastbefore the PhD becomes the new masters! Essay on Battle of Jutland - 1948 Words

The Battle of Jutland nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;Considered by most to be the greatest naval fleet battle during World War I, the Battle of Jutland was the largest and last full-blown conflict between massive fleets consisting of battle cruisers, dreadnoughts, and destroyers. Despite the fact that Jutland changed nothing strategically within the war, it is still known as being one of the most significant battles in naval history. But this battle was also one that ended with many questions and controversies that have been written about and discussed throughout the years following, even to present day. nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;Jutland commenced on May 31, 1916, after the commander of the German High Seas Fleet, Reinhard Scheer,†¦show more content†¦Led by Rear Admiral Hugh Evan-Thomas, M.V.O., in Barham, this squadron supported us brilliantly and effectively.† This statement implies that, although Beatty could have taken other actions that may have resulted with different outcomes, overall his procedures were not as â€Å"controversial† as Rubin has made them out to be. Meanwhile, as Beatty and his battle cruisers continued northward, they began angling north-northeast, while Jellicoe and the dreadnoughts began moving southeast in six columns with an armored cruiser screen. The Grand Fleet formed a â€Å"crossing the T,† position, in which the Germans found themselves crossing in front of the British fleet and suffering heavy hits. Once again, Scheer ordered another retreat. Andrew Gordon, the author of The Rules of the Game written in 1996, comments on Scheer stating that one would assume that, from the direction that Beatty had been angling, Scheer might have suspected that there might be more to what he was doing than an attempt to run away. But it was not until heavy shells began falling among the High Seas Fleet that the German commander realized that he, not Beatty, had fallen into a trap. Scheer ordered a simultaneous turn west to get out of the line of fire. Battle Analysis of Meusse-Argonne Battle Free Essay Example, 1250 words

The Argonne forest provided a good shelter to the Germans, where they could rest without the risk of being attacked. It was so because the area was lined by guns, mines and trenches and supported by artillery fire. There was no place, on the western front where the German army could think itself more safe and sound than the Argonne forest. This was probably the reason, for the Allies, to think the battle at this field as a decisive one. With a fresh American army on the southern flank of the western front, the Allies could now think of an offensive on the German troops in the Argonne forests. At 5:30 on the afternoon of September 26th, the American 1st Army jumped off with the French holding their flanks. The U. S. army and the French 4th Army shared the Meuse-Argonne offensive which proved to be the biggest and the deadliest one for the American Expeditionary Force in the World War I. The French General Mariano Goybet, commanding the 157 Red Hand Division, indulged in the Meuse-Ar gonne offensive on 28th September. Personal Values and Ethical Standards - 1728 Words

Personal Values and Ethical Standards In order to start this paper, I had to make sure I knew the differences between values, moral and ethics. It’s believed that values are what we learn from childhood from parents and surrounding influences of adults involved in the child’s life. Morals are the beliefs developed from that value system and how one should behave in any given situation. Ethics on the other hand is how someone actually behaves in the situation that may test ones morals and values, wow are you confused yet? Richard Wrights Assessment for the Negro Writers Essay

Richard Wrights Assessment for the Negro Writers Introduction Richard Wright’s plead in the Blueprint for Negro Writing could be very well summarized in one of the famous words from Thomas Kempis, â€Å"Be not angry that you cannot make others as you wish them to be, since you cannot make yourself as you wish to be.† In this popular essay, Richard Wright denounced the Negro writers as he perceived them to be merely begging for the sympathy of the bourgeoisie instead of striving to present a life that is more worth living for the Black Americans (Mitchell 98). This paper argues that Richard Wright was justified in his assessment that literature was so concentrated on pandering to white readers thereby neglecting the needs of the â€Å"Negro†¦show more content†¦The Harlem Renaissance Firstly, it is worthwhile to examine the time when both of these literary works were written. The writers studied in this paper are part of the Harlem renaissance, the period of rebirth of the African American creative expression. During this time, the time of so-called â€Å"New Negro,† the African American communities more likely developed a sense of Negro pride (Rasche 5). In addition, the Harlem Renaissance writers attempted to relate their history to their present condition, as well the urban and rural experience of the African Americans. Thus, writing was the product of and their respond to their historical and cultural context (Rasche 6). On Langston Hughes and his poem â€Å"The Negro Speaks of Rivers† One of the Harlem Renaissance writer was Langston Hughes (1902-1967). He was an American poet who was at the same time a social activist, novelist, playwright, and columnist. He was also one of the pioneers of the literature art form jazz poetry. Hughes’ began to write poems when he was still in his eighth grade. Particularly, he wrote â€Å"The Negro Speaks of Rivers† when he was passing by the Mississippi River, on board on a train down to Mexico with his father (Shmoop 4). Hughes was a key icon during the Harlem Renaissance because his works has helped the black arts and culture flourish in the 1920s. Le Corbusier, the modernist Free Essays

Architecture as a medium started during the Egyptian era, then the Greek and Roman Period followed, after which the development seemed just to have died down. No further design was evident but only reinvention of the three distinct styles from Byzantines to gothic, renaissance to baroque, neo-classicism to art nouveau and art deco. All contributed to designs of sinuous curves and decorations creating an atmosphere of brilliant exuberance (â€Å"Neoclassic†). We will write a custom essay sample on Le Corbusier, the modernist or any similar topic only for you Order Now However at the start of the 20th century a new movement was born – the international style of modern architecture. This is a form of rebellion on the established architectural norms at the time and to basically express in style that is totally different from the past. Coupled with the development of concrete, steel and glass, it became the barometer by which succeeding styles evolved (â€Å"History†). The International Style of Architecture The international style is characterized by three basic principles; the marked influence of volume rather than mass; balance rather than applied symmetry; and the total expulsion of ornaments to the composition of the structure both in the faà §ade and interior spaces. This movement is brought about by the advent of the industrial revolution. Thus, the international style is anchored towards machines, or that structural spaces are â€Å"machines where one can live in† (â€Å"International Style†). One of the pillars of the international movement was Le Corbusier, the Swedish Architect who eventually made a name for himself while in Paris. He was a tireless artisan, through pamphlets, manifestos, magazines, books and even exhibitions he was able to project the merits of the movement not only in Europe but the America’s as well. Part of his (Le Corbusier) design innovation is; the structure is raised on stilts to make it appear light and floating; free flowing plan, so dwellers will have the freedom to rearrange the spaces according to their needs; make the walls independent of the structure – thus curtain walls were developed; provide horizontal bands of windows to keep the light in; and most of all top the structure with a roof garden to bring the natural environment to the structure (Rybczynski). The resulting structure is a study of steel columns and beams, a skeleton devoid of any decorative ornament. It projects an architecture that is harsh and brutal in appearance, but with the application of ground to ceiling plate glass windows it tempered the faà §ade and promotes the functional side of the structure. The walls are no longer planned as load bearing but only as decorative panels devised mainly to protect dwellers from the elements. The elevator shafts are now exposed and part of the design retinue (â€Å"International†). The Villa Savoye The most important building that expressed the tenets of the international style is the Villa Savoye, near the suburbs in Paris. This building is memorable since it was designed by one of the movers of the style – Le Corbusier. The Villa Savoye captures the essence of the movement because of its abject simplicity and is considered by many as the climax of Le Corbusier’s work as it virtually expressed the style in its purist form (Sullivan). What make the Villa Savoye the true representative of the international style are the different components that truly define the spirit of the style. The faà §ade is endemic throughout, meaning the design does not distinguish the front, the sides or the rear of the building and it is of plain reinforced concrete that added to its effortless appeal. The Villa Savoye is obviously modular in design and follows the pattern on human proportion; the building seems to float because of the series of â€Å"pilotis† or stilts that raise it from the ground, though it may be a form modern classicism; it does not have any attachment to historical ornament but is actually an expression of a modern abstract sculptural composition; and the external faà §ade is pure white that suggests birth, purity, simplicity and health (â€Å"LeCorbusier†). The building has an open interior plan that defines the logic of large spaces; to go up or down between floors is best served by a corkscrew spiral staircase and a reliable ramp system; the windows provides a wealthy interplay of light, reminiscent of industrial architecture; of course the feature that Le Corbusier emphasized is the roof garden at the top of the structure – to promote oneness with the natural environment even when inside the building; and the ground floor has an integral garage (â€Å"LeCorbusier†). All the characteristics of the international style as expounded by Le Corbusier are all incorporated in the Villa Savoye. And owing to the importance of the Villa Savoye to the international style, it has become a relic and a pilgrimage site for students of architecture. Conclusion Never in the history of architecture have a style that truly evolved without the undue influence of the past. Two movements have expressed the sincerity to really deviate from this form of evolution – the modern movement of Frank Lloyd Wright (organic style) and the international style. Both styles have echoed desires for large uninterrupted open spaces and simplicity in design without the use of elaborate ornaments. The development of the skyscraper in the United States put into full use the international style of architecture. The buildings were now constructed according to the new manual on steel construction with reinforced concrete as the material of choice on the walls and foundations. The faà §ade fully utilize the versatility of plate glass as it clad the structure from the ground floor up to the penthouse. The glass curtain walls may have added to the aesthetic appeal of the building, but it also plagued insulation engineers, for it resulted in problems about heating and cooling, particularly during the cold and warm months. Therefore new standards were set as it increases the energy requirement of buildings. But, even with some negative perceptions, nobody can question the effects of the international style in our modern society. It has revolutionized our ideas of a modern structure. Rewards in Martial Arts Essay Example For Students

Rewards in Martial Arts Essay For me, Tang So Do is a way f elite because can express treaty my thoughts and emotions by performing techniques and forms, whilst helping me in my daily life, was only nine years old when first enrolled into a Tang So Do lesson. At that age, was so young to understand and appreciate what martial arts is about In fact, had the concept that Tang So Do was a sport where could show my abilities and strength to beat someone. Obviously as I grew up and moved on to higher belts, realized I had the wrong mentality. Eventually I kicked off to show more interest and dedication and made my own research about the art, then darted to have a better understanding. This helps me to show more respect to my art and to my instructor, Mr.. Ian Wallace, and to my mates. Now, that am almost eighteen years Of age, I have better knowledge Of and appreciation in Tang Do. Still there are other concepts that Will have to bring to light and understand. Focus is the primal thing in a persons life. Without Focus one cannot achieve anything in life. Therefore once a person concentrates hard in what he is doing, he will have a goal and a success will follow. The person has to keep focusing until he achieves what task he wants to complete. One must always find a balance in life. When one is talking about self confidence, its not just about self confidence but self-esteem, First and foremost it is important to point out that the level of self-esteem may range from high to low, yet these factors are sometimes taken to extremes. Usually someone who has very low self-esteem is said to have a major interiorly complex, where a person degrades his personality and suffers from self-humiliation. On the contrary, those with a superiority complex; those people who have a high self-esteem, are more likely to take pride n what they do, but this can eventually lead to arrogance_ Generally there is a link between these two extremes, where those who have the ability of believing in themselves to the full influence those with a weaker character. This could lead the individual into a depressive mood which eventually lead him to commit suicide as he comes to believe that this is the only form Of escapism. In both cases, there is the problem of socializing; both might have difficulties regarding integrating With society. Those Who feel useless would form a fatalistic approach here they deprive themselves from society and any social activities and recreation. These can also be identified as introverts. On the Other hand, the individuals with high superiority complex may find hard to integrate in society as they might reject any views which differ from their own. One cannot mix a high self-esteem with over confidence or egoism because these are as negative intentions. High self-esteem is a positive thing as one gets inner peace and also has the confidence to keep on searching and to do what one really wants in ones life and pushes oneself to go for it. From my experience, can say that Tang So Do has given me this self-confidence and inner peace. Focus, balance and discipline are the strongholds of martial arts. Tang So Do encourages the student to overcome fears, to prepare to succeed and to invite a full life of adventure, One recognizes that the best way to overcome fear is to confront it. One must be present in body, mind and spirit in order to learn. Personally, believe that Respect is one of the most important guidelines in order to hue success in life because it is one of the most essential values in life. As I eave already mentioned, encounter different people from different societies in my daily life and need to give them the required respect. Everyone is unique in ones own way; whether its ones appearance, character, politics, beliefs, abilities or skin color. Theres a saying that NO man is an island and I totally agree With it. This is because no one can live ones whole life on his own to be a complete person. Everyone is dependent on someone else (Whether it can be a relative, a friend. A neighbor, etc. ), and for this reason everyone has to be respected for ones ability. Therefore, respect is like a two-way deal, if a person respects others, then the person will in the long run receive the same respect from others. Moreover, think that if there is respect, then Obedience will follow. This is because the person must be obedient with himself and to others in such a way, that together with his education, he can have a better idea of the values in elite. An Analysis of Heart of Darkness EssayWill power is the inner power that overcomes the desire to indulge in unnecessary and unless habits, and the inner strength that overcomes inner emotional resistance for taking action. Will power is the ability to arrive to a decision and follow it with perseverance until successful accomplishment. The same applies during Tang so DO because sometimes it seems that it is impossible to get a technique or something. However. I believe that If you aim for something, you can get it because along with perseverance and will power anally I will get what want for good or for worse! Dedication is like the cherry on the cake. This is because it combines with all the other values: Respect, Obedience, Discipline, Responsibility, and Perseverance and Will Power. Believe that dedication is one of the ingredients to have success in elite. However it goes along with commitment because it depends on how much a person is committed and this shows in his abilities. Also, it he is self-disciplined, there is more chance that he would be more dedicated and determined in what he believes in. All these values in my life could not have been possible if I had not the love ND care from my parents and my superiors; being in school, sport or in Tang So Do. Have had Mr.. Ian Wallace as my instructor from the beginning of my training. To him owe my perseverance and will power. He taught me that first have to belief in myself in order to excel in my life Mm Wallace is a very dedicated person, always there to encourage us students, pinpointing our good moves and stressing on values. His commitment and dedication to Tang So Do, his behavior in class and outside have taught us excellent knowledge of the significances in life. Besides being our Instructor, he is also our friend, and that sakes a big difference. Self-improvement does not just happen. It is not a gift. Tang So Do sees, embraces and endorses the highest standards of behavior. Much of what society offers neither stirs the spirit nor maintains good mental or physical health. Tang So Do encourages the push to excel and the drive to a positive position in life. I try to get to know myself. Began to see my interior nature. Work through impatience and frustration. Hard training and persevering showed me the way. Myself esteem strengthens me and helps me to achieve one difficult task after another and to clear obstacles that comes in my way. Tart to feel good and motivated in my efforts when I apply my new skills. As said, Tang So Do is a way of life because can deliver freely my aggressiveness, anger, passion and confidence through forms and techniques. Also, Tang So Do helps me to build a strong and determined character because have a better understanding of the values of Respect and Obedience, Discipline, Responsibility, Perseverance and Will Power. These tenants all sure me as a guidance in my everyday life. All the above is helping me in my I am at the moment a second year student in Junior College, preparing myself for my A Levels. Also, a long term injury did not hindered me to keep pushing myself to the limits. Perseverance, Dedication and Discipline are pushing me to work hard during this grueling year. The study Of martial arts instills in the individual the belief that the stirring for excellence and the patience to strive is the greatest value of all. Such study encourages me to be the best I can be in every aspect Of my life. In a world where many people seem to embrace a complacent attitude of just getting by, insist on lengthening my limits, making a meaningful life of myself and those around me, and balancing the basic aspects of my nature. Believe that f know what is expected of me, will hold a meritorious goal, and set out to achieve that goal in an environment of discipline, direction and devotion to duty, Achievement, excellence and honor will then follow as a natural reward.

Pricing is an important concept in marketing and forms one of the 4p’s in marketing, i.e., product, price, promotion, and place (Nichols 1993). The objectives, as spelt by the business enterprise could remain both short term and long term. The performance standards included a survey of customers’ satisfaction, the impact of the business on the environment, profit generation, and evaluation of customer needs and wants. Customer satisfaction remains vital in determining the performance of the business. Standards Standards envisaged quality control measures, legal requirements, ethical and corpor ate issues. The management of the bongo club must embed in its managerial strategies issues such as weekly reviews of employees and management actions, there should be schedules on implementing and carrying out duties in the organization, continuous performance evaluation remains key on both employee and management levels. Meetings form an important component in decision-making and conflict resolutions. Meetings also form part of the way employees express their satisfaction or dissatisfactions over management actions. There should be frequent updates on the club’s activities and concerns. Varieties of benefits could result from the business when monitoring control measures remain effectively embedded in the system. These includes, energizing employees, inspiring them, resolving conflicts, increased employee activeness and productivity, enhanced communication within the business setting, and improved group dynamics. Target Market The target market forms an essential component in effective marketing. Data on the demographic nature of the population obtained and studied well enabled the team to develop a marketing mix with appropriate marketing strategies for the appropriate market. This involved, analyzing similar business ventures to identify who their customers were, the occupation of new customers and how the timing could influence their activities, the location of the business, income levels of the groups, and essentially their entertainment needs. SWOT SWOT implies the st rengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats a business faces. The key strengths of the bongo club were its uniqueness in the market, the hosting venue in central London, providing easy accessibility to the venue from all quarters. In addition, the club’s financial health remained good with superior advertising methods used. Weaknesses identified included a new business environment, new cultural settings, time of entertainment and fear from customers over the new entertainment modalities. However, the scene unfolds issues where varieties of opportiunities abound. These include the uniqueness of the new venture, better administrative abilities, experienced employees, highly motivated workers assert Nichols (1993). The threats stemmed from other competitors and entrepreneurs who may innovatively use the idea to come up with a similar businesses, current business competitors, high prices, and environmental regulations. History Book Review Mark Twain Roughing It Essays

History Book Review Mark Twain Roughing It Essays History Book Review Mark Twain Roughing It Essay History Book Review Mark Twain Roughing It Essay Mark Twain, Roughing It, New York City, Signet Classics, 1962, 448 pages, Appendix The book Roughing It is about the early journeys of Mark Twain is the west during the mining boom in Nevada and the Western States of the Union . Twain travels across the States to places such as St. Louis, San Francisco, and The Sandwich Islands in Hawaii. At the Beginning of the book Twain envisions that his brother will strike it big in the west. Later on he is offered a chance to accompany his brother in a journey to the west. Then the story of Slade comes it is about a man who killed another man in a fight and then fled from his home state of Illinois. He gained a reputation by fighting Indians which he than got a job as a agent with Overland. Twain then encounter alot of people along the to the Whiteman Cement Mine. The Whiteman Cement Mine was told to have a massive amount of gold. It was discover accidentally by the Germans. Near the end of the story Twain goes to Honolulu and is very drawn to the city and its vibrant colors. He spends 6 months there then comes back to San Francisco to be poor. He than ended his 7 year journey there in San Francisco being a public speaker. This book had a very significant amount of content of the West United States. It really discribed Nevada and California from a early standpoint. There is numerous facts about the West and Mark Twain that i never knew about. It also has a very humorous tone to it Twain makes fun of the Western people. The Gold Rush is one of my favorite parts in U. S history and i found it very interesting on how Twain described it apart from the text books in school. Also the author Twain is a great american writer who hardly ever disappoints. The book did have some downside to it though. In the story it seemed like about of it was just ramblings about the story and would go off topic alot. Also this was a little to much information for just one book. I really think it should have been split up is to separate books. It also got very confusing and hard to follow near the end due to him going off topic and then jumping straight back into the story. The vocabulary used in this story is old western and very hard to follow in what was being said but not overly difficult. Lastly he doesnt touch alot on some of the more important subjects like government and politics as i would have though. Roughing it is based in the Western States mainly in California and Nevada and has a large amount of facts about those two states. The people who should read this are people who are taking a class on western history or California or Nevada history and just people who like western history in general. This is just a great book to explore the past vicariously through Twains writing.

Chose an interesting Topic Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words - 1

Chose an interesting Topic - Essay Example You see, he was actually asking me to work in two days, which in his mind was next Saturday. For me, that would have been this Saturday. For whatever reason, neither of us communicated exactly what we thought. In retrospect, I should have practiced my informational listening skills a bit more and asked for clarification. What I was hearing, and what he was saying, were apparently two different things. Because I had agreed to take his shift, he put it out of his mind and went on with his weekend. The ironic thing is, so did I. Now, I was fully planning on working the following Saturday and I already had that in the back of my mind. Well, my friend called me later that evening obviously upset. He wanted to know why I lied to him. Since I did not believe I had lied to him, I became a bit upset myself. He then proceeded to question why I told him that I would work for him today, but then I did not show up. He was implying that my verbal message to him on Thursday was contradicting my actions today. I went on to tell him that he told me I was supposed to work next Saturday, not today. Of course, he said that since he spoke to me on Thursday, that this was, in fact, next Saturday. Needless to say, I became confused even more than I was when he called me a liar. In the end, he got in a lot of trouble for failing to adequately cover his shift. I did not get in trouble, but I still feel terrible about the situation. My friend probably thinks that I was practicing deception with him by trying to justify my actions with a misunderstanding between the words ‘next’ and ‘this’. In reality, it was truly a mistake made by two adults. He feels that he communicated properly, while I feel like he did not. In the end, he suffered with the boss, and I continue to suffer because I unknowingly let a friend down. It appears that the root of our misunderstanding resulted from a lack difference in chronemics. Both of had

Food Giveaway Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Food Giveaway - Essay Example I feel that I gave my all for this program because my heart was in it. This experience was also a time for my inner self discovery. I was able to learn about my emotional being. I learnt that I find peace in being around children and the less fortunate. I also learnt that charity is a thing I can do all my life so long as it involves the youth and children. These are people whose experiences I can relate to. They are people I feel that go through the same emotional challenges I go through while growing up. They are people with dreams just like I do. I thought working with the youth and children is hard but this perception has changed. It was not hard to talk to the children about life. This is something I have done being a peer leader. The session was engaging and I enjoyed it. However, having to wear gloves and a gas mask to clean up the place they call home stretched me. This is not something am used to doing and so adapting to it was not easy but eventually, I was able to do and I overcame my fears. The youth and children narrated their experiences in life and how they came to live the kind of life they are living. This part carried my emotions. I could not hold back my tears to learn that there is someone out there living life in worse conditions but they still enjoy their life. Leaving the group was not easy: saying goodbye is never easy. Man is not an island: everyone has a belonging as a member of a community I feel proud that there are people who contribute in making life wholesome, each in their big or small ways. Being a member of a country also gives one identity and one can therefore feel safe around people whom they share citizen hood. In this era of technology, I feel fulfilled that I am not an alien on earth. The different cultures and races of the world always give me an opportunity to learn something new every day. The donation experience was good for me because I feel that

The History And Background Of Yahoo Marketing Essay A company symbol is regarded as a unique mark or design that identifies a certain firm. In most cases, a company symbol tends to be more important than the assets of a company when it comes to the companys identification by the public. All of the international as well as regional business firms, including Yahoo, tend to have their specific company symbols, which helps them for public identification. For instance, the company symbol for Yahoo is Yahoo! (Mortensen p25). The key executives of Yahoo are committed business individuals who ensure that the firm runs smoothly in the business fraternity. Kenneth Goldman holds the key position of the Chief Financial Officer. Ron Brachman is the Chief Scientist and Head of Yahoo! Labs. Finally, there is Henrique De Castro who holds the position of Chief Operating Officer at Yahoo! (Snell p31). Yahoo is an American internet corporation, which has its headquarters in Sunnyvale California. The firm was found by two individuals, David Filo and Jerry Yang, in 1994, and was incorporated in the business world in March the year 1995. Yahoo tends to generate its revenue from the display of text-based links to advertisers Websites, which is regarded as search advertising, from the display of graphical advertisements, which is regarded as display advertising, as well as from other relevant sources (Snell p33). As an internet corporation, Yahoo offers a number of products and services to its esteemed customers. The company has a strong technology and insights that helps it in the delivery of digital content and experiences across the globe and communication devices. The firm tends to provide online services and properties to its users, as well as marketing services aimed to connect with Yahoo! users. This is done through a distribution of network of third party entities. Through its search engine, Yahoo! Search, and its web portal, the firm provides services such as advertising, Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo! Finance, Yahoo! Directory, fantasy sports, online mapping, social media website, Yahoo! News, as well as Yahoo! Groups. The firm has properties, which are tailored to users in certain international markets. The properties include social networking websites (Meme and Wretch), and Yahoo! Homepage (Mortensen p69). The services offered to users of Yahoo are divided under three categories. The categories include Media, Communications and Communities as well as Search and Marketplaces. Under the Communications and Communities category, the firm offers Yahoo! Messenger, Flickr, Yahoo! Answers, Yahoo! Mail, Connected TV, and Yahoo! Groups. Services offered under this particular category enable the users to organize themselves in groups and share photos, common interests, as well as knowledge (Snell p47). The Search and Marketplaces category tends to answer the information needs of the users through the search results pages and across Yahoo!. The search offerings of the company include Yahoo! Local, and Yahoo! Search. These offerings are free of charge for the users and help them discover new content on the internet. On the other hand, the Marketplaces offerings include Yahoo! Small Business, Yahoo! Real Estate, Yahoo! Travel, Yahoo! Shopping, and Yahoo! Autos. With these properties, the company enables users to research and review specific topics or fields of interest and exchange information with parties of similar interest (Snell p49). The final category is the Media whose services are tend to engage the Yahoo users with online services and content especially on the web. The services provided under this category are free of charge to the users. Services provided include My Yahoo!, Yahoo! Finance, Yahoo! Homepage, Yahoo! Toolbar, Yahoo! News, Yahoo! Entertainment, Yahoo! Sports, and Yahoo! Contributor Network (Snell p48). In the internet business, Yahoo tends to have a number of competitors who keep the company on toes in terms of performance and service provision to the customers. The main competitors for Yahoo! include Google Inc., Acxiom Corporation, Agilysys, Inc., AOL Inc., Adobe Systems Inc, Facebook Inc, and Callidus Software, Inc. among others. These competitors tend to compete in terms of service provision to the internet users. The top competitors of the named ones for Yahoo are Google Inc., and AOL Inc (Mortensen p72). The key executives in the firm head the structure of the organization. The head of the structure is the Chief Executive Officer who is also the president of the firm. The Chief Executive Officer usually does most of the managerial activities and decisions in the firm. Other key executives who makes the top of the organization structure includes the Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief of Yahoo, and Chief Scientist and Head of Yahoo Labs. The growth and development of the firm majorly depends on these individuals (Associated Press). The management of the company mainly lies in the hands of the Board of Directors and the Key Executive members of Yahoo. The management team of the company tends to manage business at the company by ensuring that employees perform their duties as scheduled, and that the users of Yahoo receive the best products and services in the market (IFM). In 2011 September, the management team headed by the chair of the firm decided to fire the then Chief Executive Officer, Bartz. This decision was consequential in terms of business for Yahoo when a number of potential buyers came in with the idea of buying parts or rather the whole firm. In September 2012, the current Chief Executive Officer of Yahoo made a decision of closing the deal the company had with Alibaba in her managerial post. This particular deal; was controversial and it earned the company a negative image in the business fraternity. The closure of the deal affected the companys financial function in a positive way by giving the company 625 million US Dollars (IFM). In relation to sales and earnings of the key financial finding for Yahoo is that the company has been able to grow its bottom line. In the 2012, despite the stagnant revenue growth, the companys bottom line was able to grow from 1.0 billion US Dollars to 3.9 US Dollars. In the earning statement of 2012 delivered by the companys Chief Executive Officer, she stated that the firm was able to show a revenue growth in 2012 for the first time in a period of four years. The variables that tend to affect the earnings of the company include revenue, earnings per share, price to earnings ratio, and return on equity. The variables tend to change from time to time and this affects the earnings of the company (Mortensen p56). There are a number of activities and decisions that the company did to affect its financials. For instance, in 2012 during the quarter that the company made progress in its financials, it is indicated that various activities took place. The CEO stated that the executive team was reshuffled leading to its growth, there was the launching of unbelievable Yahoo! mail and Flickr mobile experiences, as well as signing of major business partnerships with the CBS Television, and NBC Sport (Snell p38). There are also a number of decisions that the company made which led to negative impact of its financials. They include signing a business deal with the Alibaba group, creation of the Yahoo! search image in 2006 that brought up sexually explicit images, and rejection of Microsoft Corporations bid of acquiring the firm in 2008 on the basis that Microsoft had undervalued it. These decisions led to the fall of the companys financials (Mortensen p81). It is with no doubt that global issues are affecting business at Yahoo. For instance, there are various global issues that can be discussed. Advancements in technology is one of the global issues that affect business at the company since it is an internet company. Many technologically advanced companies around the globe are coming up with advanced internet service provision, and this tends to keep Yahoo on toes (Belew and Joel p35). Another global issue of concern is the fact that majority of people around the globe communicate through the social medias in the internet. Since the company offers such services, increased numbers of subscribers on social networks around the globe affect business operations at the company. The company has to provide the best services to its customers (Belew and Joel p33). Challenges that Yahoo! has been facing over the years in business operation is a relevant topic that was left out. One of the main challenges that the company has been facing in the past years is poor management. For instance, until the appointment of Mayer as the Chief Executive Officer of the firm, the company had plunged into poor leadership. This is clearly indicated by the poor financial reports the company used to report in the past years (Belew and Joel p56). Another challenge that the company faced in the past, and was a great loss is the fact that the company had signed a business deal with Alibaba Group and that it had created a Yahoo! Search image that showed sexually explicit images. The company received a lot of criticism from the public, whereby it lost some of its customers (Mortensen p43).
